Tottenham Willing to Offloading Attacker Brennan Johnson.

Wales international Brennan Johnson
Brennan Johnson has earned 42 times for Wales after making his debut two years ago.

Spurs' European final hero Brennan Johnson finds himself in an unclear situation in North London amid increasing Premier League attention in his services.

Reports indicate that Tottenham, while not actively seeking to sell the Welsh international, are considering letting Johnson leave should they receive a suitable offer.

Crystal Palace are presently the team most advanced in their pursuit for Johnson, but a number of sides are thought to be watching developments with interest.

Last Campaign of Mixed Fortunes

Johnson was Spurs' leading top-flight goalscorer last season with 11 goals, and wrote his name in club history by netting the winner in their European final victory over Manchester United last season, bringing to a close the club's 17-year wait for a major honor.

However, the exit of Ange Postecoglou and appointment of Thomas Frank has resulted in Johnson playing more of a reduced role this season.

The 24-year-old, has been granted only six top-flight starts under Frank.

January Window Interest Mounts

Consequently, a number of clubs have been alerted to his likely exit before the winter transfer window.

Considering his lack of action and the looming possibility of a World Cup approaching with his national team, a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may suit Johnson in January.

Johnson joined Tottenham from Forest in a deal worth £47.5m in the summer of 2023 and has registered 27 goals in all competitions.

The Situation

  • Brennan Johnson's position at Spurs is currently in doubt.
  • The club is not pushing for a sale but would entertain bids.
  • Selhurst Park officials are at the front of the queue, with further Premier League clubs interested.
  • A change of manager has reduced his first-team opportunities significantly.
  • The upcoming transfer window and Wales's commitments could influence a January exit.
