Los Angeles witnessed citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a thrilling seven-match World Series title. Fans worldwide united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in 25 years that a franchise has achieved consecutive championships.

Victory Parade Attracts Massive Crowds

Local events included a downtown parade on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.

Social media videos show thousands of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy proudly.

“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to do this,” the star player stated through an interpreter.

The procession path ended at Dodger Stadium, where the team walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Pre-Parade Festivities and Athlete Responses

Festivities started prior to the parade, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the roads of the city center on the previous evening.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, commented directly about the win.

“We refuse to lose,” he said. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

Varied Responses and Community Spirit

In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a less warm reception at the rally. Recordings from the event seem to depict Walter walking onstage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with jeers interrupting his speech.

The World Series served as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, fans this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.

“It seems it’s nearly twice from last year,” he remarked. “These fans are crazy. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
