The Journey of a Movement tends to be marked by clear stages.

1. The Big Idea

An inspiring figure or figureheads introduce a new and transcendent idea offering a panacea for disconnected individuals.

So here we are. They’re getting ready to challenge the establishment overseas. The gunships are circling. Conflict emerges from the sidelines. An isolated player, vulnerable, nervous, the slogan POSITIVE INTENT smeared across his chest as a statement, has come staggering from the field and is removed under a blanket to a different team in county cricket.

Do you recall the beginning, when everything was fresh? The days of Bazball 1.0, of uninhibited aggression.

2. The Honeymoon Phase

Cult leaders promise a new start, optimism ahead, camaraderie, success among a group with shared faith in the philosophy.

What did it represent at first? Just men on a balcony basking in glory. Ink. Forearms. Determination. Elite male wellness energy. Oh sure, The squad will claim it’s not a real term, which is funny since it’s not recognized, what exactly did I just watch?

Yet it’s clear the concept. It’s the player attempting a move so depraved it’s beyond belief. It’s the thrill of Ben Stokes in his final form, a look that says: pensive Nordic god, beard made of wood, untamed style, so authentically Modern Savage you half-expect to look down and find him positioned at mid-off shirtless embracing nature.

It’s the opener continuing to have permission speaking publicly, out there looking like a joyful figure smartly dressed, expressing thoughts like we’re breaking down traditions. Indeed, the vibe, for a significant period, was uplifting.

3. A New Life
