Brian Eno Calls On Support to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign hopes to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded after a large-scale benefit event held in September. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the rendition was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of prominent voices from the industry. All were part of the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was produced by a team of producers and composers. The song blends a mix of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These donations will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The context in the territory was noted for its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of property said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a few million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is primarily raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from mid-December.
